Refugee Family Services – Youth

Youth and Family Services partners with recently arrived refugee youth and their families, working together towards empowerment and self-sufficiency. We encourage respect for self and heritage, support advocacy for quality education, and foster healthy reintegration into new communities. Refugee Youth and Family Services provides a continuum of services to refugee youth including K-12 Case Management, Family Literacy, Early Childhood Education, After School Substance Abuse Prevention programming and Youth Mentoring. During the summer, the program provides a six week summer program.

Services

Youth and Family services offers case management services to act as a liaison between students, families and schools. After school program is focused on life skills and positive youth development, and includes homework assistance. There is a mentoring program pairing youth with adults and a school readiness program for children ages 2-5.

Eligibility

• Must be refugee, asylee, survivor of human trafficking.
• Must be resident of City of Chicago for mentoring program.
