National and Midwest Regional Oral Health Connection Teams (NOHCT & ROCHT)

Oral Health Forum is a member both at the national and regional levels of the DentaQuest Foundation.  Both National and Regional Teams work with the DentaQuest Foundation to make progress on the Oral Health 2020 goals by building a strong oral health network in the 12-state Midwest region and nationally.

Goal 1: Mandatory inclusion of an adult dental benefit in publicly funded health insurance.

By 2020, at least 30 states have a comprehensive Medicaid adult dental benefit and no states that currently have a Medicaid adult dental benefit roll back or eliminate that coverage.

By 2020, Medicare includes a comprehensive adult dental benefit.

Goal 2: Oral health incorporated into the primary education system.

By 2020, the 10 largest school districts have incorporated oral health into their systems.

Goal 3: Comprehensive national oral health measurement system.

By 2020, a comprehensive national and state oral health measurement system is in place.

Goal 4: Eradicate dental disease in children.

By 2020, 85% of children reach age 5 without a cavity.

Goal 5: Integrate oral health into person-centered healthcare.

By 2020, oral health is integrated into at least 50% of emerging person-centered care models.

Goal 6: Improve the public perception of the value of oral health to overall health.

By 2020, oral health is increasingly included in health dialogue and public policy

A Midwest Regional Convening will be held every summer to build the regional network.
