OUR STRONG PARTNERSHIPS WITH GOVERNMENT AGENCIES, FUNDERS, COMMUNITY LEADERS, NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS, FAITH COMMUNITIES AND PRIVATE DEVELOPERS HELP OUR RESIDENTS STABILIZE THEIR LIVES.
Heartland Housing is proud that partnerships with community organizations is at the heart of our development process. From churches to service providers and community centers to elected officials, our partners enable us to bring our expertise in affordable housing finance and design to meet specific local needs:
- On Chicago’s Near West Side, partnership with First Baptist Congregational Church helped define and create the transformation of a dilapidated transient hotel into award-winning permanent supportive housing.
- In Edgewater, Heartland worked with the Hellenic Foundation to prevent the conversion of an affordable senior rental building to condominiums, preserving 197 units as affordable for decades to come.
- In Milwaukee, to serve the growing number of families seeking homelessness services, Heartland partnered with Community Advocates to develop Maskani Place, our first permanent supportive housing project for families.
- To help meet the needs of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender seniors – who are more likely to be low-income and have less familial support than the general senior population – Heartland partnered with the Center on Halsted to develop Town Hall Apartments.
