Campaign's Success Recognized

April 6, 2009

Heartland Alliance's From Poverty to Opportunity Campaign has been profiled in a new report on successful collaborations to reduce poverty.

The profile appears in Making the Link: Reducing Poverty at the State and Local Level, produced by Grantmakers for Children, Youth, and Families. This issue brief examines how funders and state and local governments can work with nonprofits to supplement public resources and help maintain the social safety net for low-income populations.

The From Poverty to Opportunity Campaign brings together residents from the most affected communities throughout the state as well as advocates and policy leaders to find solutions that will reduce extreme poverty in Illinois by half by the year 2015.
