Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

  1. If I am a first-time user with the online application system, how long should I set aside to complete the application process?

We recommend that you set aside at least 30 minutes of uninterrupted time, while being connected to the Internet. If you have an electronic copy of your resume, work history, references and cover letter ready before you start the process, you will probably finish faster.

You will need to a) complete an application, b) submit your resume and cover letter c) answer a few questions about the position. If you are unable to complete these all of this in one session, you will loose the information you entered. To avoid starting the process all over again, you can complete basic information in each section and click the save/update button. Later, you can log on and fill in the details. Please note that the hiring manager will be able to view the incomplete application, so your information should be updated in a timely manner.

  2. If I applied for positions before, can I update my application and resume?

Yes. Log into the system, edit your application and/or resume and remember to save/update the changes. Hiring managers will view the document with the most recent changes.

  3. Do I have to complete a new application and resume for each position I apply for?

No. Our recruiting system will let you create one application and resume, which you can submit to multiple positions. Please make sure that you meet the minimum requirements for each position you are applying for.

  4. How often are new positions updated?

Daily. New positions are posted as soon as opportunities become available and closed positions are removed as soon as a candidate has been identified.

  5. Are résumé's accepted by email/mail/fax?

No. We only consider resumes received by our electronic applicant tracking system, available on our website.

  6. Can I include relevant part-time jobs, volunteer work and internship experience?

Certainly. Please remember to describe your duties, start and end dates and frequency. E.g. ABC food pantry. January 2000 – January 2002. Once a week. Served patrons, stocked groceries, administrative work etc.

  7. Who should I list as references?

We strongly encourage you to list professional references i.e. supervisors, co-workers or any individual who knows you in a professional/work related capacity and can comment on your work.
