Heartland Safe Start, a project of Violence Recovery Services, provides early childhood clinical intervention and education to very young children and their families who have been exposed to violence or trauma. We provide case management, counseling, community education, and technical assistance on issues impacting children exposed to violence (CEV). We focus on the Chicago communities of Lakeview, Uptown, Edgewater and Rogers Park, as well as McKinley Park and its neighboring communities.
