The Refugee Health Education and Promotion Program provides culturally competent and linguistically appropriate health education interventions through the training of health promoters who serve refugee populations and the creation of multilingual health education material. The program director also coordinates a coalition of refugee resettlement agencies, health centers, and other community-based refugee service agencies and provides multilingual health education resources for those agencies. Other activities include a collaboration with the University of Illinois at Chicago, Library of Health Sciences, in expanding access to multilingual health education Internet resources, and a collaborative program in women's health and well-being.
