International Youth Center (IYC)

The International Youth Center (IYC) provides housing, counseling, case management and family reunification services to unaccompanied immigrant boys, ages 10-17, who have been apprehended by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and referred through the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). IYC is a 15-bed facility licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) as a Child Care Institution and serves boys age 10-17 in need of a more structured environment due to behavioral and mental health issues. The program provides housing, case management, counseling, education, medical care, recreation, and family reunification services.

Eligibility Criteria:

Boys ages 10 to 17 referred by the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), who are in need of emotional and behavioral stabilization.

Services available by referral from Office of Refugee Resettlement/Division of Unaccompanied Children's Services (ORR/DUCS) only.

Appointments:

Referrals are made through the Office of Refugee Resettlement/Division of Unaccompanied Children's Services only. Intakes are done 7 days a week.
