The HIV Prevention program targets homeless persons who are at risk for contracting HIV. The program provides outreach, health communications/presentations, one-on-one communications, and HIV counseling and testing at shelter sites. HIV counseling and testing services include HIV risk assessment, risk-reduction education, testing, and pre- and post-test counseling. Outreach staff distribute information on HIV, condoms, and available heath services in parks, streets, shelters, and soup kitchens.
