Heartland Health Center - Senn High School

Heartland Health Center – Senn High School provides accessible, high quality health care to students of Senn High School, Senn Achievement Academy, and Rickover Naval Academy. The health center is a partnership between school administration, Heartland International Health Center (an affiliate of Heartland Alliance), and the youth organization Alternatives, Inc.  Our goal is to meet the primary, mental health, and oral health care needs of students and to teach them lifelong positive behaviors.  Heartland Health Center – Senn is among a handful of school health centers in Illinois that offer this comprehensive range of services and use an electronic health record system.



Services Offered:
  • Acute care for sickness and injury
  • Immunizations
  • School physicals (required for every incoming Freshman)
  • Sports physicals (required for every student who plays a sport)
  • Chronic disease management including diabetes, asthma, and hypertension
  • Nutrition counseling
  • Free and reduced cost medications
  • Dental services - including exams, x-rays cleanings, fillings, and extractions
  • Behavioral health services – including individual, family, and group therapy
  • Psychiatric evaluations and medication management for ADHD, depression, anxiety, etc
  • Women's health services
  • Testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections
  • Family planning services - including pregnancy tests, contraceptive counseling, and some methods of birth control
  • Prenatal care – including one-on-one meetings with our prenatal case manager to help meet any special needs during your pregnancy and breast feeding support from our lactation specialist
   
Eligibility Criteria:

Health services (with the exception of dental care) are available only to students at Senn High School, Senn Achievement Academy, and Rickover Naval Academy.    

   
Fees:

In order to ensure our services are affordable and accessible:

  • We accept Medicaid
  • We provide enrollment assistance for AllKids
  • We accept some private insurance plans
  • We provide services at no cost to uninsured students
