English Language Civics (EL Civics) is offered to legal permanent residents who have limited English proficiency and are applying for naturalization. The class has an English Language Training component, but focuses on preparing participants for the citizenship interview. Topics covered in the class include US history, the US Constitution, the rights and responsibilities of US citizenship, contemporary issues facing immigrants, and current events.
