Services - Food

Each year, Vital Bridges provides over half a million meals to nearly 1,800 people in great need. If participants are able to leave their homes, they come to one of our four grocery centers located around Chicagoland to “shop” for two weeks worth of nutritious groceries. If their illness has them homebound, we deliver hot prepared meals or groceries right to their door. All at no cost.

An example a participant's "shopping list" for 2 weeks of groceries

5 oranges & 4 bananas
4 tomatoes & 1 large cabbage
1 can of peaches
1 can of green beans
1 whole chicken
pork chops
ground beef
talapia filets
turkey lunch meat
dozen eggs
2 cans of tuna
peanut butter & jelly
pasta & sauce
wheat bread
2% milk
1 frozen apple juice
4 rolls of toliet paper
