The Social IMPACT Research Center released the 2011 Report on Illinois Poverty on Friday, December 9. In the report, IMPACT documents hardship across a variety of indicators including income, employment, housing, and assets.
This year’s annual Report on Illinois Poverty finds that the post-recession period has seen no gains for struggling Illinois families. In fact, poverty is at its highest point in decades.
Experiences of struggling Illinoisans are highlighted throughout the report. Read the report to see how poverty is impacting different populations, and explore county-level data to see how poverty is impacting different areas of the state.
