The U.S. Census Bureau has released state and local data related to income estimates, poverty rates, and health insurance coverage numbers from the American Community Survey. The Social IMPACT Research Center has done the analysis for you, creating user-friendly fact sheets.
For Illinois geographies, the fact sheets also include information on asset poverty and the Illinois Self-Sufficiency Standard – a measure based on real costs in local areas that gives us a better sense of what families need to meet their basic needs.
