Below are just some of the over 200 organizations that have endorsed and supported the From Poverty to Opportunity Campaign.

Illinois Coalition for Community Services

The Illinois Coalition for Community Services (ICCS) Illinois Coalition for Community Services is committed to empowering people to determine the direction of their communities through education, advocacy and grassroots organizing. ICCS has been involved in the From Poverty to Opportunity Campaign by gathering information and experiences from members of Southern Illinois communities, organizing Community Forums, advising the Campaign on the realities of people experiencing extreme poverty, and recruiting community members and representatives for participation in the Illinois Commission for the Elimination of Extreme Poverty and the 2008 Governor's Poverty Summit: Opportunities for Change.

Chicago Coalition for the Homeless

Chicago Coalition for the Homeless (CCH) organizes and advocates to prevent and end homelessness based on our belief that housing is a human right in a just society. In addition to being involved in the Campaign through mobilizing people to participate in community forums and to endorse the Campaign, CCH has been a leader in defining housing as a human right, one of the central positions of the From Poverty to Opportunity Campaign.

Sargent Shriver Center for Poverty Law 

The mission of the Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law is to provide national leadership in identifying, developing, and supporting creative and collaborative approaches to achieve social and economic justice for low-income people. The Shriver Center for Poverty Law has been a force in lobbying for the Campaign, and the creation of the Illinois Commission on the Elimination of Poverty, and has been a valued advisor to the From Poverty to Opportunity Campaign.

Greater Chicago Food Depository

The Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD), Chicago's food bank, is a nonprofit food distribution and training center providing food for hungry people while striving to end hunger in our community. The Food Depository distributes donated and purchased food through a network of 600 food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters to 500,000 adults and children every year. GCFD has been involved in mobilizing support and endorsers for the From Poverty to Opportunity Campaign, organizing people experiencing poverty for community forums, and has been a leader in defining access to food and food security as a human right.

Illinois YWCA

YWCA Illinois advocates for public policies that advance economic opportunity and justice for women and girls, with a specific focus on women and girls of color. YWCA Illinois has been involved in the Campaign through helping to organize community forums, motivating individual and organization endorsements for the Campaign, and lobbying for the creation of the Illinois Commission on the Elimination of Extreme Poverty.

Illinois Association of Community Action Agencies

The Illinois Association of Community Action Agencies (IACAA) is a membership organization which serves as the network for Illinois' not-for-profit corporations and units of government which strive to raise the health, education and economic standards of Illinois' low income population. IACAA has been involved in the Campaign through organizing community forums, lobbying for the establishment of the Illinois Commission on the Elimination of Extreme Poverty, and motivating people and organizations to endorse the Campaign.
