Poverty Fact:
In Illinois, more that 1 out of every 4 people live at or near poverty. Children are particularly vulnerable. Of all the people living in poverty in Illinois, 1 out of every 3 is a child under the age of 17.
Housing
We advocate for a full array of affordable and supportive housing options to help prevent and address homelessness and ensure that everyone has a safe and stable place to call home. Heartland Alliance works in partnership with other housing advocates to secure public investments in housing as well as related services that help people remain housed. We lift up effective models based on our direct service expertise as a housing developer and service provider.
