Heartland Alliance's Financial Literacy Program Graduates 65 Low-Income Workers

Last night, a financial literacy program offered by Heartland Alliance and certified by the state of the Illinois graduated 65 consumers. Known as "Illinois Saves," this program focuses on building overall consumer skills with an emphasis on saving and budgeting. Carmen Jimenez, a Heartland Human Care Services employee who oversees the program, says "All people--regardless of income level--deserve long-term financial stability and success. Illinois Saves gives participants the building blocks and knowledge to get there, and it helps them achieve their financial goals which range from opening a checking account to home ownership.”
