Illinois Poverty Summit

The Illinois Poverty Summit (IPS) was established in 2000 to develop strategies to eliminate poverty in Illinois. IPS develops bipartisan support for strategic priorities to eliminate poverty in Illinois; analyzes current poverty data and serves as an information source on trends impacting the state's eceonomic health; and convenes legislators and other key civic leaders to determine the most effective use of state and federal anti-poverty resources and to develop new anti-poverty strategies.

From Poverty to Opportunity Campaign

The From Poverty to Opportunity Campaign: Realizing Human Rights in Illinois, works to bring together a broad range of stakeholders to develop and advocate for a poverty elimination strategy anchored to human rights standards that will reduce extreme poverty in Illinois by half by the year 2015.

Illinois Youth - Ready For Life: Teen Poverty & Youth Development Project

Heartland Alliance recognizes that Illinois’ future largely depends on the investments we make in youth. The Illinois Youth – Ready for Life Project aims to mobilize advocates, youth, youth serving agencies, and key decision makers in state government around effective youth development strategies and a comprehensive vision for youth development in Illinois.

Illinois Asset Building Group

 

The Illinois Asset Building Group (IABG) is a diverse statewide coalition invested in building the stability and strength of Illinois families and communities through increased asset ownership and asset protection.

National Transitional Jobs Network

The National Transitional Jobs Network (NTJN) is a coalition of more than 200 Transitional Jobs programs, policy organizations, and sponsoring organizations. The Network works to influence a number of audiences to ensure that policies will account for the hard to employ, that the public understands the need to invest in these services, that programs are able to effectively serve as many individuals as possible, and that best practices and technical assistance are widely shared and implemented throughout the network.

Regional Roundtable on Homelessness

The Regional Roundtable on Homelessness (Regional Roundtable) is a forum working to improve strategies for understanding and addressing homelessness throughout northeastern Illinois. Within this forum, local governmental administrators and service providers share the challenges of assessing and planning for the needs of people who are homeless within their communities.
