LGBT Rights

In several key regions of the world, lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) individuals face considerable religious, social and political discrimination because of their sexual orientation or gender identity, including persecution, torture and even death. But in spite of such persecution, viable LGBT organizations still exist in each of these regions. Heartland Alliance for Human Needs & Human Rights, having identified a need to strengthen the capacity and reach of such organizations, established the Global Equality Network to develop the organizational and technical capacity of grassroots LGBT organizations, to strengthen grassroots LGBT advocacy efforts, and to improve networking and regional LGBT movements around the globe.
