No. Heartland Alliance is a non-profit, non-sectarian, and non-partisan organization that provides assistance to people living in poverty and danger and tackles the root causes of poverty and injustice in Chicago and beyond. Heartland Alliance offers its programs and services to anyone in need, regardless of race, creed, religion, sexual identity, or national origin.
When you purchase a gift through the Heartland Alliance gift catalog, the funds help support our entire mission. We combine your generous gift with gifts from others to provide the best mix of services so the people most in need can find stability and success in their lives.
Formally tracking the progress of each individual gift recipient for donors would require additional staff and increased operating expenses. Therefore, we do not report on individual progress to donors.
However we do encourage you to subscribe to our electronic newsletter in which we profile individuals and families who have benefited from Heartland Alliance programs and services.
Every donation to Heartland Alliance is equally valuable. All of the items in our Gift Catalog help to shine hope in the lives of those whom the world has forgotten.
You can also give a general donation online online through the Heartland Alliance Web site or at check-out time if you are purchasing other gifts from the online gift catalog. Such donations are used wherever they are needed the most. Yes, you will receive a confirmation via email after your order is placed online followed by an acknowledgement letter and a tax receipt sent by mail. If you so designate, we will mail a gift card to the people you are honoring with your gifts (one gift card per gift).
