The 13th Annual Midwest Light of Human Rights Awards luncheon will be on Friday, June 22, 2012 at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park and we are thrilled that Maria Hinojosa will be the keynote speaker. More information to come.

Since 2000, the Midwest Light of Human Rights Awards has honored human rights workers and celebrated the contributions of business, civic, and philanthropic leaders in promoting human rights.  The luncheon provides critical funding for Heartland Alliance's National Immigrant Justice Center to ensure that its dedicated staff and pro bono attorneys can continue in the upcoming year to promote human rights and access to justice for immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers.

The Art of Human Rights   Learn more »

The Art of Human Rights (formerly Art Against AIDS) is a festive Saturday evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres and live music - showcasing a variety of established Fine Artists, hand selected by Chuck Gniech, Curator of Gallery 180 of The Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago. Exhibited work includes: painting, drawing, photography, and sculpture - available for purchase.

Funds raised through The Art of Human Rights supports our belief that everyone deserves to have a roof over their heads, access to health care, the opportunity to earn income to support themselves and their families, and to be treated fairly and with justice.
