Designs for Dignity: What We Do

Summary
Designs for Dignity is a program of Heartland Alliance. It is formerly known as Supporting the Spirit and a recent addition to Heartland Alliance.  Designs for Dignity provides pro bono design services to Heartland program sites as well as other area nonprofits in order to create interiors that reflect dignity, hope, and comfort.

Services
Designs for Dignity works with an ever-expanding network of designers, manufacturers, and suppliers to provide each project site with the materials and expertise specific to the needs of that project.

Staff and Volunteers
With the coordination and support of the director, professional interior designers provide expert interior design services so that nonprofits can work to improve the lives of the people they serve in an environment that supports that effort.

Excess Materials
Excess materials from design projects can be put to use to transform nonprofit environments into spaces of hope. Through Designs for Dignity, volunteer designers combine innovative ideas with donated gallons of unused paint, overstock or slightly used furniture, excess tile or carpeting, and other donations to change nonprofit spaces into more functional and nurturing environments.
