
You Can Become a Trained Medical Interpreter By Following These Four Steps
- Complete the CCIS online application by clicking here.
- We will send you the upcoming training/testing schedule and registration instructions as soon as it is available. Once registered you will receive a confirmation email which will include a brief study guide to help prepare you for the exam.
- After you pass the language assessment exam, a registration form will be mailed or emailed to you for the next training class. Your test score is valid for one year from the date the exam was taken.
- A medical interpreter certificate will be issued to you after your successful completion of the training course and final exam.
Professionally Trained Interpreter Course
Our Chicago-based training team focuses on the role and ethics of the professional interpreter by utilizing intensive role-playing exercises to prepare students for handling such issues as client confidentiality, cultural barriers, and ethical dilemmas.
Course Prerequisites
- Eighteen years or older
- Bilingual in English and a second language
- Have a least a high school diploma or equivalent
- Pass a language assessment exam
- Be interesed in facilitating linguistic and cultural communications between provider and client
A 40+ hour intensive course prepares students to become medical interpreters. The following areas are addressed:
