Language Assessment Services


Individuals

CCIS offers a 40 hour medical interpreter training class several times per year.  Prior to entering this class all individuals, regardless of previous education, work, or country of origin, a Language Assessment Exam must be completed.  If a passing score is received then that individual will be offered a position in our interpreter training class.

Participants are allotted 1.5 hours to complete the written portion and 30 minutes to complete the verbal portion.

Employers

CCIS assists employers in evaluating bilingual proficiency of employees.

The language assessment may include the following:

  • Document translation
  • Oral testing (including dialog conversation and providing a sight translation of a document)
  • Vocabulary (industry specific)
  • Essay

CCIS can develop an assessment exam with cultural concepts tailored to meet any employer’s needs.
