Are interpreters trained?

Yes. All interpreters are trained in a 40+ hour training course. The training emphasizes the proper techniques for interpreting as well as the national code of ethics for interpreters.

How do I schedule an interpreter?

Scheduling an interpreter is easy. Just call, fax, or email CCIS. When scheduling an appointment, remember to have the client’s name, date and time of the appointment, language needed, and your contact information.

Do you charge extra for a last minute request or for languages that are uncommon?

During normal business hours, CCIS charges one flat rate. Our goal is simply to provide you with the highest quality interpreting services when you need it.

What if it’s 2 a.m.? Do you provide 24 hours acces to interpreters?

Yes. CCIS has interpreters available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. After normal business hours, you can reach CCIS via pager at 312.329.5575.

What are your fees for translation services?

Translation fees are based on language, the subject matter’s technical complexity, and the number of words in the document.

What other services do you offer?

In addition to our interpreting and translation servcies, CCIS provides language proficiency exams, cultural competency training, and training on how to best work with interpreters.
