Cross-Cultural Interpreting Services

Eliminating Barriers Through Communication

Cross-Cultural Interpreting Services (CCIS) was established in 1996 to improve access to services for the Limited-English-Proficiency (LEP) client. CCIS was the first program of its kind in Illinois to recruit, assess language skills, and train in the medical interpreting field. We have earned a well respected reputation throughout Metropolitan Chicago for providing outstanding health care interpreting and document translation services.

We specialize in medical interpreting, but our growing customer base now includes law firms, mental health providers, social service agencies, schools, government programs, and other businesses.

Available Services:

  • Foreign Language Interpreting (in-person)
  • Foreign Language Interpreting (by telephone)
  • Document Translations
  • Bilingual Proficiency Testing
  • Interpreter Training

What sets CCIS apart from other Language Service Providers?

CCIS is a social enterprise of Heartland Alliance for Human Needs & Human Rights.  Proceeds from interpreting, translation and training services help provide health care for those in need.

CCIS is dedicated to improving access to services for limited- and non-English speaking communities through cost-effective, high-quality language services.

When you work with CCIS, you become a partner with Heartland Alliance--a service-based human rights organization focused on investments and solutions for the most vulnerable men, women and children in our society.

If you need interpreting or document translation services in the Chicago area or beyond, call CCIS today at 773-751-4094.
